Read-A-Thon - A Letter from the Director
Dear KIDS,
Kol HaKovode for all the work you put in to raising the funds for the children back here in Israel. You can probably imagine how difficult it is for an Israeli youngster. It might be that someone in one of our Kids' family was killed in a terrorist attack. Or one of their friends. Or maybe they themselves have been hurt. Sometimes it is enough that terrorist attacks happen in a kid's neighborhood to give them nightmares, or fears, or sadness. So KIDS FOR KIDS tries to be there to help them. Maybe by providing a professional person for them to talk to. Or having a Small Circle Support Group for them to open up and share their feelings with kids who have been hurt by this war, too.
Just to give some Kids a reprieve from the stresses of being under fire and the threats of violence, we take Kids on fun trips. We throw parties. We've had magic shows and concerts. We give out toys and Teddy Bears. And do spur of the moment things like sending ninth graders who's classmate was killed, class to the Paint Ball ranch for a day of fun. And we have a summer camp that's coming up for orphans. There are tons of things we do, but we couldn't do any of them without KIDS like you. KIDS who work on projects just like you did so we can pay for all the things we do for the KIDS here who are hurting. That's why we're called KIDS FOR KIDS. We are YOU!!!
Thanks and Love from Jerusalem,
Yeshara Gold, International Director
