"where the poppies grow"
"where the poppies grow"
Twelve Israeli teens shared their experience as terror and violence rocked their country and lives, in KIDS FOR KIDS booklet, "where the poppies grow".
These essays were first read at the NCSY Yarchei Kallah in December, 2001, by twelve sensitive regional representatives. By connecting ‘teen to teen’, the NCSYers were now able to attach a face and soul to the headlines they read.
This meaningful project is being felt deeply on both sides of the Atlantic. K4K has found that telling their story an immense asset to our Kids in dealing with the traumatic events surrounding our Israeli teens. We want to share with you these insightful and sometimes daring vignettes.
To receive your booklet, just e-mail us (with the word “poppies” in the subject field) to kidsforkids@kidsforkids.net
You will be happy to note that KIDS FOR KIDS expanded this project and published "whispers & shouts", 57 pages of writing from Israeli teens.
