"whispers & shouts"

KIDS FOR KIDS seeks to be a platform for the young voices which might otherwise go unheard. Due to terrorism and circumstances surrounding their violent environment, our children by writing their stories, experiences and feelings, rediscover their inner voice which are often silenced. Guided by creative specialists, these children now begin to develop and hear their own message. Carrying this therapeutic method further, we encourage them to make this message available to others.

K4K utilizes writing and art expression as a therapeutic tool allowing youngsters to share their feelings surrounding their traumatic situation, their sorrows, their strengths.

• KIDS FOR KIDS holds workshops in writing and art.

• K4K publishes some of the children’s work for the purposes of Hasbara, education, fundraising, and most importantly, to elevate the self-esteem of the youngsters.

• K4K’s first such publication was the booklet, “where the poppies grow”, (December, 2001) containing Israeli teens essays.

• In February 2003, a 57 page issue of “whispers and shouts” was produced and dedicated to Rachel Thayler, 16. This second volume of emotional expressions, both in English and Hebrew, was written by 60 classmates of the murdered teen.

• Continuing workshops and publications are planned throughout the coming year.
